Autism Teaching Assistant
PK Education are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with young people in schools across Birmingham. Pupils may display challenging behaviours as well as some other conditions including ASD, ADHD, ADD and EBD. Having and calm and understanding approach towards these individuals is crucial as well as being able to maintain a calm and effective learning environment.
As a Teaching Assistant in this setting you will be required to support the Teacher on a day to day basis. This may include preparing the class and setting tasks for individuals, supporting pupils emotionally and with behaviour issues, be confident managing conflict and build trusting relationships.
currently looking for a SEN TA/ Support to join their growing base of staff. This forward thinking and progressive specialist school require someone to work. This is a highly desirable school for children with SEN/SEMH needs and the school actively encourage its members of staff to undertake the training they provide to improve their skill sets and further help the pupils.
TA/Support role is unique in that the school are looking to take someone on a short term and long term basis should they integrate well with the current team and build a good rapport with the pupils. The school are using the latest technologies and practices to encourage learning in a different way to a mainstream setting, using active learning and a more hands on approach to get the pupils to engage more.
To be considered for this role you should have:
Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
The ability to build strong, positive relationships with staff and students
Experience Within SEN Environment/classroom
