Behaviour Support assistant       

We are currently recruiting for behaviour support assistants to start ASAP at a Pupil referral unit in the Bradford area. This unit is Ofsted rated “good” with “Outstanding” features. The unit has high expectations to their learners and provide an inclusive learning environment. Children attending this setting have been permanently excluded from a main stream school and present with challenging behaviour, social and emotional needs, ADHD and ADD.

Job description:

  • As a behaviour support assistant you will be required to supporting the children in the class with their curriculum.

  • Encourage the children through positive regard.

  • Liaise and work alongside the class teacher completing any tasks necessary.

  • Follow the schools behaviour policy, ensuring professionalism at all times.

  • Understand the differentiated needs of the students.

  • De-escalating behaviours that may arise in an efficient and professional manner. 

  • Report recording for any incidents that may have taken place that day.

  • Build trusted relationships with the learners in order to encourage their best performance in their educational attainment.

Job spec:

  • Minimum of Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience working as a behaviour support assistant.

  • Excellent communication and written skills.

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Demonstrate your knowledge and experience as a behaviour support assistant for learners with differentiated needs and behaviours.

  • MAPPA trained is an advantage, but not essential.

  • Solid behaviour management skills.

  • Competitive pay £350-£375 per week.
