SEMH Teacher required – Nuneaton

Are you a passionate Special Educational Needs Teacher looking for their next chapter? Do you want a rewarding placement with a supportive encouraging team?  I am looking for innovative, experienced SEND Teacher for a full time long-term position in a special school located in the Nuneaton area. The school is Ofsted rated “good” with a nurturing supportive ethos throughout their school.  We are looking for a teacher with experience of working with children with emotional behavioural disorders (EBD), social, emotional, mental health difficulties (SEMH) and other challenging behaviours.. The role is to start as soon as possible.

Job Description:


  • Provide progress development tracked through evidence based in a range of methods appropriate to the child including: cognition & learning, communication & interaction, social & Emotional, physical/sensory & preparation for adulthood.

  • Passionate about your specialism and working collaboratively in a small behaviour centre catering for a small number of secondary aged male students with behavioural concerns.

  • Provide a positive, nurturing environment for learning.

  • Attend staff meetings once a week.

  •  Provide programs of work for pupils taking into account individual’s needs.

  • Provide a nurturing classroom environment regardless of challenging behaviours.

  • To ensure a smooth transition for pupils coming from another establishment.


Job Spec:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status

  • MAKATON, BSL, or PECS is an advantage, however training provided.

  • Preferably hold a Full UK Driving license

  • Empathy, communication, teamwork, organisational, adaptability and flexibility, administration. Story building and behaviour management skills.Demonstrate knowledge and experience of deliver, plan and preparing P-Levels.

  • Able to provide 2 referees and a Fully Enhanced DBS subscribed to the update service (which we can help you obtain).
