Job Description:

A Secondary School in Birmingham are looking for a teacher of Drama to start straight away on a full-time basis. The school are in need of a specialist of Drama and the ability to manage challenging pupils with a range of SEND, EAL and behaviour needs.

The successful candidate should be able to teach their subject at KS3, KS4. The abaility to teach at KS5 woulld also be an advatange but not essential for the role.  

Essential for the role:

  • A recognised DfE teaching qualification.
  • Strong effective behaviour management skills and strategies.
  • Able to form positive relationships and show empathy and understanding when dealing with conflict in the classroom.
  • Current and up to date training and experience; able to demonstrate resourceful and pro-active skills when facing challenges in the classroom, able to adapt.
  • A good sense of humour!
  • Ideas about how to improve achievement in students of all abilities.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.

Desirable for this role:

  • Experience of teaching to a range of ages and abilities.
  • Evidence of the willingness to participate in extra-curricular, community and off-site initiatives as appropriate, as part of a broad curricular entitlement.
  • A capacity to respond to change.
  • The ability to innovate.
  • Flexibility to deal with the everyday challenges faced when working in schools.
