Forest Schools Teacher
PK Education are working exclusively with an SEN school in the east of Leicestershire who are looking for someone with experience leading Forest Schools sessions with pupils from ages 7-18. The school are very well known for their forward thinking approach to teaching and learning practices and actively encourage their pupils to learn by different means than a mainstream curriculum based approach.
The ideal candidate will have a good experience base working with SEN pupils as well as a proven record of forest schools teaching methods. The school say they want someone with keen passions and hobbies outside of academia, basing the curriculum around these interests as they encourage active learning and a more hands-on approach.
The school are looking for someone to start after the Easter Holidays to continue through to the end of the summer term with the option of staying on a permanent basis for the next academic year. The placement will be a full time 5 day per week post, with the last 2 days of the week based on learning through extra-curricular activities such as fishing, horse riding and hill walking.
