Job Description

PK Education are in partnership with a Primary SEMH Setting in Leeds who are looking for temporary, short term Intervention specialist. The Setting is a spacious medium size setting surrounded by fields for lots of outdoor activities. Pupils attending this setting are those that have been permanently excluded from a mainstream primary setting, SEMH, ADHD, ADD, SPLD, attachment disorder, FASD and language developmental delay disorder.

Job description and spec:

  • Full time Intervention specialist.

  • Salary range between £14700-15360 term time only.

  • Progression as an intervention specialist from temporary to permanent position on an annual contract.

  • Must have at least 6 months experience as an intervention specialist, supporting pupils with SEMH, SPLD, Attachment Disorder, FASD, ADHD, ADD or FASD in Key stage 2.

  • Demonstrate your understanding and knowledge of Lego play therapy, social stories, intensive interaction and emotional intelligence interventions.

  • Team Teach trained.

  • As an intervention specialist you will demonstrate your understanding of the different special educational needs you have supported and how you supported the pupil.

  • Have a positive and nurturing approach.

  • Understand a pupil’s trigger points and as a behaviour support assistant demonstrate how you have efficiently de-escalated a situation in a professional manner.

  • Demonstrate your experience of working on a one to one basis where there has been a successful outcome.

  • Liaise with the class teacher on any developments or issues that may arise to ensure the best method is adapted for the pupil you are supporting.
