Job Description:

Secondary Media Studies Teacher required – September 2019 – Stockport

£110 – £165 per day


PK Education’s Manchester branch are working with a desirable secondary school in the Stockport area in order to recruit a dynamic Media Studies teacher for an initial two term maternity cover starting in September 2019.  This position will run until April 2019 in the first instance with the potential to be extended into the next academic year.

The school are looking for a passionate and highly motivated Media Studies teacher to join their sizeable Performing Arts department.  The large department means that there are lots of opportunities to support each other and share resources.  The successful candidate will be required to teach KS3 and KS4 Media to classes across a range of abilities.  Lessons should engage and challenge students in order to provide opportunity for good progress to be made.


When visited by OFSTED, one inspector commented “students feel very safe at the school in a nurturing and tolerant learning envirorment.”


Teachers of all experience levels will be considered for the role, including NQTs


To be considered for the role you should have:

Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS).

The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.

Strong subject knowledge of the English curriculum including the new GCSE

Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
