One to one behaviour support

We are recruiting for an experienced behaviour support to work one to one with a Year 9 pupil that present with SEMH and challenging behaviour. Situated in the Harrogate area, that boasts acres of land surrounding the unit, which has their own stables, with horses and outdoor activity structure. This is for a full time long-term position with a view of becoming permanent. Due to the rural location of this school, you may want to call for further information before applying for this role.

 

Job Description:

  • Operate within agreed professional ethical and school policies when working with pupils and those involved with them.

  • Encourage and support staff in positive regard restraint training when presented with difficult behaviours.

  • Supporting the pupil to overcome their crisis and deal with the consequences.

  • Assist integration for the pupil you are supporting into the rest of the class/group.

  • Maintain good working relationships with the other members of staff.

  • Empower the pupil you are supporting and encourage positive regulation of social and emotional skills.

  • To support the pupil in their educational development on focusing on activities to complete the tasks given.

  • Develop positive trusted and relationship with the pupil you are supporting.

  • Listen to the pupil you are supporting and offer appropriate support if necessary.

  • Provide information for behavioural records and report back as required and liaise with outside professional agencies when in meetings.

Job Specification:

  • Must have at least 6 months solid experience working one to one behaviour support assistant in a pupil referral unit or similar setting.

  • Be proactive

  • Team Teach trained desirable, however training provided.

  • Competitive daily rate £70-£75.

  • Enhanced DBS subscribed to update service- or willing to apply for one.

  • Driving licence required.

-Competitive rates of pay from between £ 350- £ 375 per week (AWR Compliant)
