Pastoral Manager

Job Description:

You’ll be part of a team helping to transform the lives of young people with special needs. That’s why we’re looking for someone who’s pretty unique. Our new Deputy Pastoral Manager will be committed to fulfilling the potential of each and every one of our Young People, no matter what their educational needs (including emotional and social difficulties, autistic spectrum conditions and speech and language communication difficulties), you share our belief that all young people are capable of achieving great things.For children and young people with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond.We are a leading provider of specialist education and care for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, communication difficulties, complex learning needs and challenging behaviours. We have a reputation for excellence and of achieving the highest possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.The person must be able to handle challenging behaviour in a calm and structured manner and embed a rigorous timetable to enlighten children’s enjoyment in their education and progress their attainment in this vital learning period. The school will provide support and a detailed understanding of the children as well as appropriate resources to implement your plans to ensure learning is engaging and structured.

 

You need to:
• Be a hard-working, outstanding role model
• Have experience with children – ideally with behaviour or a Team Teach qualification
• Be able to work with children of all ages
• Be able to inspire and motivate pupils and parents
• Have high expectations for learning attitudes and behaviour
• Be creative and enthusiastic
• Have a structured and routine approach to day to day activities.
