Job Description:

Residential Support Worker – Young People – Stockport
£8.50 – £11 per hour

PK Education’s Manchester branch are working with a Residential Care Home in the Stockport area in order to recruit positive and experienced Support Workers to assist vulnerable young people on an ad hoc basis.

This home which is based in a scenic area of Stockport has excellent fascilities including a pool. They are looking for passionate Support Workers to join their dynamic care team to work across a variety of shifts (evenings, nights and weekends).  The successful candidate will be required to support young people aged 9 to 18 with various activities in the home while helping them to develop life skills. They cater for children with a range of additional needs including; Social Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, Mental health issues, Attachments Disorders, ADHD and Autism; many have also experienced trauma and may display challenging behaviour.  You will be responsible for creating a positive and safe environment for all young people.

To be considered for the role you must have:

Experience supporting young people within a care setting
Excellent behaviour management.
Good understanding of safeguarding requirements.
A positive attitude with a calm but firm approach.
NVQ level 3 in Childcare (beneficial)
Team teach or similar de-escalation training (beneficial)
Full UK driver’s license

Additional requirements:

Reference details will be requested prior to registration.
Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
