Resource Teaching Assistant

Location: Wakefield (near central Wakefield) 

Salary: £95 – £100 per day (Experience dependent)

Start Date: ASAP (Potential for permanent contract)

PK Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Resource Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary resource provision near central Wakefield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners with complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

– Work 1:1 with a 5-year-old pupil with Autism who is non-verbal, providing tailored support to enhance their learning, communication, and social development.

– Support the pupil in both mainstream classroom settings and within the resource provision.

– Help the child engage with lessons, interact with peers, and develop essential skills in a nurturing and supportive environment.

– Be proactive and hands-on in ensuring the child’s progress, adapting strategies to meet their individual needs.

– Collaborate with the teaching staff and SEND team to create a positive, inclusive learning experience.

– Work alongside other practitioners to support groups of pupils with learning activities and transitions during the day.

Requirements:

– Previous experience working with pupils with Autism or complex SEND is highly desirable.

– Must be active, patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting young children with SEND.

– Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.

– A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to fostering a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
