Job Description:

Secondary Science Teacher required – Nov 2018 – Rochdale

£100 – £165 per day

This exciting Secondary Science Teacher position available for a long term (and potentially permanent) position and starting after October half term is the perfect opportunity to join a desirable secondary school in the Rochdale area.

Are you passionate about science?  As an enthusiastic Science Teacher are you able to engage young people in learning about the laws of science that govern the universe?

This Science Teacher position will teach a variable timetable of both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 class groups.  You will be required to plan and deliver lessons that challenge and engage learners across a range of abilities.  Teachers who specialise in any of the 3 sciences will be considered.

This Ofsted ‘Requires Improvement’ school has a strong leadership team that are helping to deliver the improvement the school needs.  They have a shared vision of setting and enforcing ‘high expectations’ across all aspects of the school – whether it be student behaviour or the teaching and learning provided.  The commitment of the staff in providing a positive learning environment means that students strive to be the best that they can be.

When visited by Ofsted one inspector commented ‘following decisive action taken by the leadership team, students are engaged in their learning.  The SLT have demonstrated they have the capability of taking the school forwards and deliver further improvements.’

Teachers of all experience levels will be considered for the role, including NQTs

To be considered for the role you should have:

Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS).

The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.

Strong subject knowledge of the Science curriculum including the new GCSE

Additional requirements:

Reference details will be requested prior to registration.

Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
