We are currently recruiting for a Qualified Teacher keen on teaching children age 11- 19 years old at a Specialist Nurture school in the Wakefield area.
The full-time role will be to start January, for one full term in the first instance that is likely to continue long term. The specialist Nurture school has a maximum of up to 27 young people that are split into very small class sizes of around 6 pupils per class.
The young people that attend this specialist nurture school have complex special educational needs, autism spectrum disorder and learning disabilities. The establishment is one of the 6th largest education care and support services for children and young people with disabilities. The school offers a range of therapeutic services that aligns with the PBS framework.
Job spec & Description:
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
- Ability to plan and prepare individualised learning programs.
- Address complex needs with PBS and therapeutic support.
- Understand and demonstrate knowledge of ASDAN, NCFE entry level and foundation learning across the range of learning levels.
- keen interest in teaching vulnerable children with SEND & Neurodiversity.
- Flexibility to attend meetings & CPD after school times.
- DBS on the Subscription service.
