Job Description:

SEN Teaching Assistant –Birmingham

Are you a committed Teaching Assistant who is experienced and passionate about assisting young people with Special Education Needs (SEN)? Are you positive and pro-active?

PK Education are looking to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants to work in welcoming schools across Birmingham.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be required to support children with additional needs on a one to one basis or in small sized groups. Pupils may have a range of SEN including Autism (ASD), Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) or Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). You will be working closely with the class teacher and assist with the delivery of lessons and other activities, aiding the young people with their daily routine and development whilst maintaining an effective learning environment.

To be considered for this role you must have:

–          A qualification in education or child care.

–          Good literacy and numeracy skills.

–          Excellent communication skills.

–          Experience supporting young people with a range of SEN

–          Great behaviour management with a calm approach.

Additional requirements:

–          Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
