SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description:

Vacancy:              Teaching Assistants (Multiple vacancies)

Location:             Belper

Start Date:          Immediate

Duration:             Ongoing

Rate of Pay:        £55-£70 per day

 

TA Required: Upcoming vacancy for a SEN TA, full time (part time will be considered) for 1 -2 terms at a specialist Autism unit in Mid Derbyshire.

Role Requirements/Responsibilities:  Some roles will require 1:1 support with specific pupils requiring academic support as well as behavioural support.   There may also be a requirement for ad hoc support with other pupils on the main school site and possibly on another site associated with the school.

School details:  The school is a specialist Autism unit set in a stunning location in the mid Derbyshire region.  The school is a provider of specialist education as well as therapy and care for children and young people aged 5 – 19 years, with speech, language and communication needs and/or Aspergers Syndrome. 

Candidate Requirements:  To be considered for a role with this school candidates must have experience of providing support to pupils on the autistic spectrum or at the very least within similar SEN organisations.  Candidates need to be willing to be very active and have an interest in sports as this will be important to help build rapport with the pupil and will also be necessary when performing activities with the pupil.  It is preferable that candidates have a minimum of a level 3 TA qualification but it is not mandatory.
