PK Education are honoured to be working with a specialist SEN School which specialises in helping young people with SEMH needs.
We are looking for outstanding teaching assistants with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage & inspire young people who demonstrate extremely challenging behaviour.
You will work with a range of ages and the work will depend on the age of the children and their individual needs, but you must:
– experience of helping young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs or high functioning autism (ASC) – be an effective communicator – be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of individuals within the group – have a thorough understanding of differentiation within the classroom – be able to provide a calm and positive presence
You will have extensive experience working with learners with extreme behavioural difficulties.
This inspirational school is registered for Key Stage 2-5 for pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a separate Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
All pupils receive individualised programmes which support their transition into the school environment.
The primary activity of the school is the provision of specialist education services to young people with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and highly focused education services for pupils with an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).
The school offers positive outcomes to young people of school age who have disengaged, or are at the point of disengaging with education. Many of these pupils are known to the criminal justice system and a significant percentage of the pupils are looked after or children in need. Most have been excluded from at least two schools.
