SEN Teaching Assistant (EBD)
PK Education are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Workers to work with young people in schools across Birmingham. Pupils may display challenging behaviours as well as some other conditions including ASD, ADHD, ADD and EBD. Having and calm and understanding approach towards these individuals is crucial as well as being able to maintain a calm and effective learning environment.
As a Teaching Assistant in this setting you will be required to support the Teacher on a day to day basis. This may include preparing the class and setting tasks for individuals, supporting pupils emotionally and with behaviour issues, be confident managing conflict and build trusting relationships.
This role could include:
Providing relevant support to students. This may be on an individual or group basis, in order to enable them to access the curriculum and promote independence.
Working collaboratively with the class teacher to adequately plan to ensure the safety of students, in line with risk assessments and behaviour management strategies while both on and off site.
Working with and manage challenging behaviour
In order to be considered for this role you will need:
Experience of working with ASD and/or challenging behaviours.
Experience of work within an education/residential setting.
Ability to work as part of a team or independently pro-actively.
Ability to build relationships.
