SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity !

Job Description:

I am currently looking for experienced Teaching Assistants to work at a special school based in Nottingham.  This is for a long term position however there are also more flexible day to day opportunities available as well. 

School Details:  The school is an SEN school providing for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) as well as profound and complex learning difficulties.  It is currently graded ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ Features including pupil welfare and safety.  Based to the west of the city, it is easily accessible by car or public transport. 

Job Role:  Duties will include assisting pupils with a range of learning difficulties and will involve some pastoral responsibilities and personal care duties.  The successful candidate will be required to work with learners aged 11-19. 

Candidate Requirements:  It is crucial that candidates have previous experience of working with pupils affected by SLD and other learning difficulties.  MAPA training is desired, Manual handling experience is preferential however this may be offered by the school.  You MUST have a demonstrable empathetic and caring approach and a genuine desire to work with pupils affected by disabilities and other learning difficulties.
