SEN Teaching Assistant Post 16 required – Newcastle – £65 – £80 per day

As a passionate Teaching Assistant are you able to help and assist young people aged 16+ with SEMH needs in gain the skills they need to apply for apprenticeships and college courses?

This exciting Teaching assistant vacancy available for an ongoing full time position is the perfect opportunity to join a successful post 16 team at a specialist SEN School in Newcastle. This rewarding role is to start as soon as possible and will be ongoing due to funding attached to the role.

SENTA – Post 16 responsibilities and duties

This SENTA position will see the suitable candidate work closely with young people who have either SEMH, ASC or complex learning needs to gain English, maths and employability skills to enable them to apply for college or apprenticeship courses.

With the school providing vocation courses for their learners, there are designated days where you may be asked to assist pupils on one of the vocations. Experience in agriculture, automotive engineering, joinery or construction is advantageous but not essential.

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • Experience working with a variety of special educational needs. (all ages)
  • The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.
  • Have experience in report writing

  • Competitive rates of pay from between £65 to £80 per day (AWR Compliant).

  • Reference details will be requested prior to registration.
