Job Description:

SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH – Rochdale
£60 – £70 per day

PK Education’s Manchester branch are working with a developing special school in the Rochdale area in order to recruit energetic Teaching Assistants who are passionate about working with young people and experienced with SEMH.

This special school are looking for positive TA’s to join the growing staff team, who will be required to support students on a one to one basis and in small groups. You will be required to assist across a range of lessons and activities while helping the young people to develop life and social skills too. This alternative provision currently caters for secondary aged students with a variety of SEN including Social Emotional & Mental Health difficulties (SEMH), ADHD and Attachment disorders, so you will need to be resilient, have excellent behaviour management and a calm but firm approach.

This Teaching Assistant role is to start at Easter or sooner and if successful will lead to a permanent position. It would suit an experienced TA who is a team player and looking for a new challenge. You will be responsible for creating a positive and safe learning environment for all students.

To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant role you must have:

Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.
Experience with SEMH.                
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Strong behaviour management.

Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
