PK Education are currently recruiting for a qualified teacher with experience of teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs. You are welcome to apply if you are secondary teacher with experience teaching in a pupil referral unit and the ability to teach a primary. You will have learners of different abilities in one classroom, so you must be able to cater to all of their needs. You may be needed to provide support using sensory equipment and have a calming nature towards the pupils.
The ideal candidate will have experience of managing young people with challenging behaviour, including those with ASD and communication difficulties but we would also like to hear from teachers with an interest in, and desire, to learn more about special needs. Working in both primary and secondary sector of Special needs schools within the West Midlands.
A strong team player, you will be comfortable taking on new challenges and working in a highly collaborative way.
Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
Have the ability to quickly build rapport with both the pupils, parents and other members of staff
Team Teach trained would be desirable
Ability to teach across curriculum subjects at a primary model content
Ability to keep pupils engaged and on task to complete the work set
Must hold QTS or UK equivalent qualification
At least 2 References to cover 12 months requested prior to registration.
