SEND Teaching Assistant – Complex Needs – Manchester
£60 – £75 per day

PK Education’s Manchester branch are looking to recruit caring and pro-active Teaching Assistants to work within a special school in Manchester.

This role will involve supporting children on a one to one basis and in small groups within the classroom. This special school caters for children aged 3 to 16 with a wide variety of SEND including complex medical needs, sensory impairments, Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities and Speech Language & Communication Needs (SLCN). Experience and understanding of a range of SEND is necessary and knowledge of skills such as alternative communication techniques, personal care, manual dandling and feeding would be beneficial. This role will suit a positive TA who is resilient and flexible. The school provides excellent facilities and services including speech therapists, nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists. You will work closely with the class teacher assisting with lessons and activities while providing a happy and safe learning environment and maintaining dignity for all young people.

To be considered for the SEND Teaching Assistant role you must have:

Good literacy and numeracy skills with knowledge across the curriculum.
Experience supporting young people with SEND and complex needs.
A positive attitude and flexible approach.
Excellent communication skills.

Additional requirements:

Reference details will be requested prior to registration.
Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
