PK Education are working in partnership with a Barnsley Secondary School to recruit an enthusiastic and ambitious Teacher of Maths for a long-term supply position. This Teacher of Maths post is required to start on Monday 29th April 2019 and is likely to continue for the rest of the school year. It is a full-time post, so you will need to be available five days a week.
As a Teacher of Maths, you will be expected to teach high-quality, engaging and effectively differentiated Maths lessons to mixed ability pupils. You will be teaching Maths across Key Stage 3 only to a variety of ability groups. Therefore a good knowledge of the Key Stage 3 Maths syllabus is essential. In addition to Maths, you will also be required to teach a few lessons of Year 7 Science a week. As this is a long-term post. you will be responsible for planning and preparing your own lessons, marking work and assessing the progress of pupils. Where needed, you may also be required to contribute to the effective running of the Maths department as a whole.
The school itself is a large school with over 1100 students currently on roll. The school has recently joined a Multi-Academy Trust, and is currently going through an exciting period of development. In particular, the Maths Faculty are a forward-thinking and enthusiastic department, so you will be joining a dynamic team.
