Teacher of Physics

Job Description:

PK Education are currently working in partnership with a Chesterfield Secondary School to appointed an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher of Physics for a long-term supply post. This position is scheduled to start in January 2019 and it will continue until the end of the school year. The Teacher of Physics role is a full-time post, so you will need to be available five days a week.

As a Teacher of Physics, you will be required to deliver engaging, high-quality and inspiring Physics lessons to mixed ability pupils. You will be teaching mainly across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, however there will be some Key Stage 5 classes so experience teaching Physics up to A-Level is beneficial. As this is a long-term supply position, you will be responsible for planning your own lessons according to the school’s Schemes of Work and mark the work of students. Where needed, you may also be required to teach Biology and Chemistry lessons at Key Stage 3 level. 

The school itself is a pleasant and welcoming school on the outskirts of Chesterfield, situation in a quiet catchment area. The school currently has over 1000 students on roll including a large sixth form. The school continues to receive excellent results at GCSE and A-Level, and high expectations of students are set. The Science Faculty in particular are a well-led and successful department which achieve excellent results and have a high profile within the school.
