Teacher of Science

Job Description:

PK Education are working in partnership with a Rotherham Secondary School to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Teacher of Science for a long-term supply teaching post. This position is due to commence on Monday 5th November 2018 and will continue until January 2019 with the potential to be extended beyond this point too. It is a full-time post, so you will need to be available five days a week.

As a Teacher of Science, you will be required to deliver engaging and high-quality Science lessons to pupils of all abilities. You will be teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, so a good knowledge of the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 curriculum is essential. You will be needed to teach a combination of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, so no particular Science specialism is requireed. As this is a long-term supply post, you will be expected to plan and prepare your own lessons, mark the work of students and assess them as they progress throughout the term.

The school itself is a large academy in the Rotherham area with in excess of 1000 students currently on roll. The school is easily commutable from Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster. The school boasts a good reputation locally, and is described as a vibrant and welcoming school. The Science Department specifically are a dynamic and forward-thinking department, so you will be joining an excellent team. 

Both Science NQTs or experienced Teachers of Science are encouraged to apply for this post. Please be aware that before you can commence this position, you will need to have an Enhanced DBS Certificate and PK Education will need to receive two previous work references.
