Teacher of Science

Job Description:

PK Education are working closely with a Rotherham Secondary School to appoint a Teacher of Science for a long-term post. This Teacher of Science role is scheduled to start as soon as possible, and will continue until Easter with the potential of being extended until the end of the school year. It is a full-time position, so you will need to be available five days a week.

As a Teacher of Science, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated Science lessons to pupils of all abilities. You will be teaching All Sciences across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, so a strong knowledge of the Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Science syllabus is required. Ideally, the school are looking for a Chemistry Specialist, however as you will be teaching All Sciences no particular Science specialism is required. You will need to have good behaviour management skills and able to ensure that students remain on task and complete their work. As this is a long-term supply post, you will be required to plan lessons and mark work.

The school itself is a large academy in Rotherham that is part of a Multi-Academy Trust. The school is easily commutable from Rotherham, Doncaster and Sheffield. The school has recently gone through a huge transformation, and there has been a recent improvement in attainment and external examination results. Staff continue to set high expectations of students, making the school an inspirational place to learn. The school also boasts outstanding facilities as it is housed in a state of the art building.
