Job Description

PK Education is recruiting an IT Technician to support a school in Durham. Starting ASAP and continuing until at least Christmas, this is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical skills who enjoys helping others and keeping IT systems running smoothly.

You will provide day-to-day IT support to staff and pupils, troubleshoot technical issues and help maintain the school’s IT equipment and systems.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for hardware, software and connectivity issues.

  • Set up, maintain and repair computers, laptops, printers and classroom IT equipment.

  • Assist with user accounts, passwords and access permissions.

  • Install and update software and support routine system maintenance.

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment and technical support requests.

  • Communicate clearly with staff and pupils to resolve IT problems efficiently.

 

The successfull candidate will have 

  • Previous experience in an IT technician or technical support role.

  • Good knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office and common hardware and networking issues.

  • Strong troubleshooting, organisation and communication skills.

  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.

  • Experience in a school or education setting would be advantageous.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
