The North East office for all teaching jobs in Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, Tyne and Wear and Teeside is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. We are near the Hampton hotel and around a five minute walk from the main train station.
Within Newcastle and when trying to get around the area, you’ll be able to take full advantage of the Metro system that’s in place there. This system is so rich and expansive that it even links up the airport to all other major stations for bus and rail in the city. Working through two lines that reach over the River Tyne this city is thoroughly linked up. There’s also a host of schools that have achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating thanks to Ofsted. One of the most recent schools to receive this rating was St Cuthbert’s High School in April 2016. Situated in the West of the city, this school is just off the A186 which hosts a major bus route to help people reach this part of the city with even more ease. Another Outstanding school in the area is Sir Charles Parsons. This school specialises in helping pupils who have a range of additional needs and currently educates 157 students, alongside a sixth from cohort of 52 pupils.
Located not too far from the A1 (M), Durham is a hotbed for great education. This is most likely thanks to the fact that it’s home to Durham University, one of the most prestigious in the UK. Durham is also a place that’s ideal for those who are looking to commute, with the train station being managed by Virgin Trains East Coast and located on the East Coast main line, major links aren’t hard to come by. The latest school in the area to receive an Outstanding Ofsted rating was the Durham Johnston Comprehensive School, in February 2015. This is one of many great institutions in the area for those who are looking to work in education.
Northumberland is a rather vast county, stretching from the outskirts (but not including) Newcastle, right up to Berwick-upon-Tweed. The area is also rich in academic excellence. Two schools within the county are in fact within the top 200 in the country for performance. These schools, both Durham High School for Girls along with Westfield School in Gosforth both made it thanks to their excellent GCSE results. Commuting throughout Northumberland is made easy by great rail links, and the fact that it’s less than three hours from Kings Cross.

The area of Tyne and Wear encompasses the cities of Newcastle and Sunderland. This means that it’s easy for us at PK to recognise great standards within the area. Very close to the central university campus in Sunderland, is one of the latest schools in the area to receive an Outstanding rating from Ofsted. St Anthony’s Girls’ Catholic Academy is a prime example of the exceptional educational standards in the region.
The area of Teesside is easily accessed thanks to the great rail link at Teesside Airport. This means that if you were wishing to commute to the work you found through PK, then you can do so. Teesside is also steeped in academic excellence, with institutions such as Priory Woods School being able to take pride in their Outstanding Ofsted rating. The area is also home to Teesside University, whose motto is “Deeds not words”, a phrase that surely defines the hard working attitude of the area.
