PK Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Derbyshire. We have both day-to-day supply and long-term positions available, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience or pursue a career in education.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work and maintain positive behaviour. You will play a key role in supporting students’ learning and helping schools provide continuity in education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 during teacher absences
• Ensure students remain on task and complete work set by teaching staff
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
• Encourage student engagement across a variety of subjects
• Report any concerns or incidents to relevant school staff
• Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by teachers

Requirements:

• Experience working with young people, such as in schools, sports coaching, youth work, mentoring, or similar settings
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• A confident, adaptable, and professional approach
• Ability to build positive relationships with secondary-aged students
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to supporting schools when needed
