Cover Supervisor

Job Description:

Suitable For: NQT’s, training teachers, retired teachers/TA’s, those unable to work full time, people needing flexible working hours, those wanting to network/gain exposure with new schools.

I require several strong and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work on a day to day basis across several secondary schools in the Nottinghamshire region. The schools I require staff for are based in Nottingham and surrounding areas. Candidates are not expected to have to work in all schools in these area’s, you can select the appropriate schools you would like to work in.

School Details: The schools within these areas are considerably different, covering several social and economical demographics and Ofsted gradings. Your consultant will match you with appropriate schools depending on your background and location.

Job Role: As a cover supervisor you will be expected to take full responsibility for managing classes in any given subject area (where possible you will be matched with subject areas that you already have experience in). You will be expected to effectively manage behavior and to ensure pupil safety. Candidates will also be expected to leave the classroom in order and to leave a lesson summary for the returning teacher.

Candidate Requirements: To be selected to work as a cover supervisor you need a degree level education and/or previous experience. Resilience and patience are crucial as well as the ability to quickly learn and understand school procedures such as behaviour and safeguarding. Candidates will need to have presence in the classroom and the ability to demonstrate authority whilst remaining calm and approachable.
