English Teacher – Secondary School | Wakefield

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Salary: £165–£230 per day, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time | Fixed-term
Start Date: January 2027

PK Education is recruiting an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher for a secondary school in the Wakefield area, starting January 2027.

This full-time, fixed-term position offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified English specialist who enjoys inspiring young people, developing literacy skills and delivering engaging lessons across the secondary curriculum.

The Role:

Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons.

Support pupils in developing reading, writing and analytical skills.

Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress.

Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities.

Establish a positive classroom environment that encourages participation and achievement.

Contribute to the wider English department.

The Ideal Candidate:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.

Has experience teaching English within a UK secondary school.

Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and effective classroom management.

Has a genuine passion for literature, language and pupil development.

Is available to commence a full-time position in January 2027.
