About the Role

We are currently recruiting reliable and proactive Bank Caretakers to support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of school sites across Sheffield. This is a flexible, as-needed role ideal for individuals seeking work that can fit around other commitments while contributing to the smooth running of educational environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine site inspections to ensure the premises remain safe, secure, and well-maintained
  • Undertake basic maintenance and repair tasks across school buildings and grounds
  • Ensure school facilities are clean, tidy, and ready for daily use
  • Open and secure school premises as required
  • Monitor and report maintenance issues, hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate supervisor
  • Assist with room setups, furniture movement, and preparation for school events and activities
  • Maintain external areas including pathways, entrances, and outdoor spaces
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and site-specific regulations

Requirements

  • Previous caretaker, facilities, maintenance, or site support experience preferred but not essential
  • Ability to carry out basic maintenance and practical tasks safely and effectively
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
