Location: Sheffield

Pay Rate: £100 – £110 per day
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (Term-time only)

About the Role

PK Education is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work within one of our supportive partner schools in Sheffield. This role involves providing high-quality support to children with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

You will work either 1:1 with a pupil or within small groups, depending on school requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about making a real difference in a child’s life.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to students with SEN, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans.

  • Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and engagement in lessons.

  • Help pupils regulate emotions and manage transitions throughout the school day.

  • Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the needs of individual learners.

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and outside professionals where needed.

  • Maintain accurate records of progress and provide feedback to staff.


Requirements

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (school, childcare, care, or similar settings).

  • A caring, patient, and flexible approach to working with young people.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through PK Education).

  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification is desirable but not essential.
