This role is ideal for individuals considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, counselling, therapy, or speech and language support who are keen to develop practical experience in education.

The Role

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday during term time, with no weekend work required. You will be supporting pupils with a range of learning difficulties and additional needs in the classroom, helping them engage with lessons, follow daily routines, and develop important social and emotional skills. You will work closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and specialist staff to support students throughout the school day, encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour while acting as a consistent and supportive adult presence.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting students during lessons and helping deliver targeted interventions where needed. Assisting pupils who have EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and ensuring they can access learning effectively. Providing pastoral support so students feel safe, supported, and encouraged in their learning environment. Helping implement strategies to support pupils with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and SEMH needs. Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND coordinators, and other professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.

We are looking for Psychology graduates, or graduates from related disciplines, who have a genuine interest in supporting students with SEND. This role would suit individuals considering a future career in education, psychology, therapy, or counselling. Candidates should be patient, compassionate, and resilient, with strong communication and relationship-building skills. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required, or a willingness to obtain one. Previous SEND experience can be beneficial but is not essential, enthusiasm and commitment to supporting young people are what matter most.

You will have access to ongoing support and professional development while working within welcoming and supportive schools.
