Salary: £100–£130 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role

PK Education are working with secondary schools across South Yorkshire who are seeking dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentors to provide 1:1 support to students who require additional behavioural and pastoral support. This is a rewarding role where you will work closely with individual pupils to help them re-engage with education and achieve their full potential.

You will support students both inside and outside of the classroom, helping them to manage their behaviour, build positive relationships, and develop the skills needed to succeed in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Providing consistent 1:1 support to students with behavioural needs, including those with SEMH. Supporting pupils in managing their emotions and behaviour in line with school policies. Building strong, positive relationships to act as a trusted adult and role model. Working alongside teachers and pastoral teams to implement behaviour support strategies. Supporting students in lessons to help them stay engaged and on task. Monitoring progress and providing feedback to staff.

What We’re Looking For

Experience working with young people, ideally in a school, youth work, or support setting. Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach. The ability to build rapport quickly and maintain professional boundaries. Resilience, adaptability, and a proactive attitude. A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
