PK Education are working closely with specialist schools, PRUs, and alternative provisions across Wakefield who are urgently seeking passionate and resilient SEND support staff.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are committed to supporting children and young people with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.
The Role:
You will be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them to:
- Regulate emotions
- Access learning
- Build confidence in the classroom
You’ll be working with students with:
- Autism (ASC)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
- ADHD
- Challenging behaviour
Experience in the following is highly valued:
- SEND schools or PRUs
- Youth work, care, mentoring, or coaching
- Behaviour support roles
- Backgrounds in psychology, education, or social care
(No formal qualifications required – experience and the right attitude matter most.)
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people (professional or voluntary)
- Willingness to complete safeguarding and compliance checks
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing, potentially until the end of the academic year
