Trainee SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Wakefield and surrounding areas
Pay: £88–£100 per day (dependent on experience, AWR compliant)

We are currently recruiting for Trainee SEND Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Wakefield, supporting children with additional needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
No direct school experience is required. We are looking for individuals with transferable skills from backgrounds such as care work, support work, youth work, sports coaching, or customer-facing roles where communication and resilience are key.
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, reliable, and interested in making a positive impact in a school setting.
The role will involve supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping to manage behaviour, encouraging engagement in learning, and working alongside teachers to create a safe and structured environment. Full support and guidance will be provided.
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Confident and willing to learn
- Calm and resilient in challenging situations
- Passionate about supporting children and young people
- Available to work school hours (8:30am–3:30pm)
