Job Description

Job Title: Art Teacher

Location: Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Pontefract

Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Secondary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £156 – £219 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging art lessons to students
  • Develop and implement art curriculum based on national standards
  • Provide constructive feedback to students on their artwork
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment
  • Organise and supervise art projects and exhibitions
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall art programme

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialisation in Art
  • Experience in behaviour management


Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or related field


Open to ECT’s as well as experienced teaching staff

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of art concepts and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students
  • Proficiency in classroom management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Art Education
  • Experience working with diverse student populations

Working Conditions:

The Art Teacher position is based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire. The role involves working full-time hours on a temporary basis. The teacher will be responsible for delivering art lessons, managing student behaviour, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the art programme.
