Location: Bradford
Contract: Temporary, Full-time or Part-time
We are recruiting for experienced and proactive individuals who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of vulnerable young people. This Behaviour Support role is based within an independent alternative provision and youth centre in Bradford, providing tailored interventions and support to pupils who may not thrive in mainstream education.
This is a term-time only role, offering flexible temporary opportunities with the potential to progress into a permanent position. If you are motivated by supporting young people with behavioural, social, and emotional needs, and want to develop your skills in a nurturing and child-centred environment, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
- Provide specialist behavioural support to pupils in small group and one-to-one settings.
- Support children and young people in engaging projects and personalised programmes designed to build confidence, resilience, and positive outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with staff and external professionals to ensure the best possible support for each young person.
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every young person feels valued.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Hold a Diploma in Youth & Community Work, or a Degree in a relevant field such as Education, Psychology, Youth Work, Sports, Criminology, or Social Work.
- Have experience working with young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), ADHD, challenging behaviour, or attachment and trauma-related needs.
- Take a child-centred, proactive approach, adapting methods to meet individual needs.
- Are open to guidance, reflective in practice, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Are flexible, resilient, and committed to supporting young people to re-engage with education and personal development.
- Hold current Team Teach (or equivalent de-escalation training) or be willing to complete training.
- Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be prepared to apply for one.
What we offer:
- Competitive rates of pay: £490 – £540 per week (AWR compliant).
- Ongoing training and development, including behaviour management strategies.
- Supportive environment with 24/7 guidance from experienced consultants.
- Opportunities for career progression in a setting that makes a tangible difference.
At our provision, we are committed to inspiring potential – in our team, in our staff, and in every young person we work with. We take pride in carefully matching the right staff to our setting, ensuring the role is both fulfilling and impactful.
