Job Description:

Secondary Design Technology Teacher required – September 2019 – North Manchester

£105 – £165 per day


This exciting Secondary Design Technology Teacher position available for an initial 12-month contract and starting in September 2019 is the perfect opportunity to join an Ofsted graded ‘Good’ Academy in the North Manchester area.


Do you love creating things?  As a passionate Design Technology Teacher are you able to engage young people in learning the practical skills that will help them succeed?


This Design Technology Teacher position will teach a variable timetable of both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 class groups.  The school is looking for a candidate that has experience teaching resistant materials, product design and/or graphics.  The department is equipped with modern tools/resources as well as ICT based packages that allow a range of teaching methods to be used.  There is also a full time Design Technology technician who assists the department in preparing the required resources for lessons.


This Ofsted ‘Good’ school has a modern, state-of-the-art building that’s fully equipped across all subjects with the ability to provide a top class education, allowing learners the opportunity to explore their talents and develop into well rounded young adults.  In addition to the learning environment the school also invests heavily in its staff in order to offer students with top class teaching and learning.


When visited by Ofsted one inspector commented ‘through strong leadership and good teaching and learning, students make good progress across the wide range of subjects on offer’.


Teachers of all experience levels will be considered for the role, including NQTs


To be considered for the role you should have:

Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS).

The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.

Strong subject knowledge of the Design Technology curriculum including the new GCSE

Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
