Job Opportunity: Long-Term Temporary Teacher of English and Drama – Chesterfield
Location: Chesterfield
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Long-term, temporary placement
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
The Role:
An excellent secondary school in Chesterfield is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of English and Drama to join their team on a long-term temporary basis.
The role is to start as soon as possible, and will involve teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and creative lessons that inspire students and raise attainment.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive, forward-thinking English and Performing Arts department, where your skills and passion can make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in English and Drama Teach and assess students in line with national curriculum standards
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support development
- Contribute to departmental planning and extracurricular activities, including school productions and performances
- Uphold school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and student well-being
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching English and/or Drama at KS3 and KS4
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A genuine passion for literature, performance, and inspiring young people
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to long-term teaching
