Teacher of English – Long-Term Supply

Location: Newcastle

Start Date: After February Half Term

Contract Type: Long-term supply

PK Education are currently recruiting for a Teacher of English to join a secondary school on a long-term supply basis, starting after the February half term.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and committed English teacher looking for a stable, long-term role.

The Role

  • Teaching English across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Assessing, marking, and tracking student progress in line with school policies
  • Maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Contributing to departmental planning and meetings where required
  • Upholding the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
  • Experience working with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour (desirable)

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent A degree in English or a related subject
  • Recent experience teaching English in a secondary school setting
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A passion for English and the ability to inspire learners of all abilities
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Two professional references
