Pupils are encouraged to become responsible, competent, confident and creative users of ICT. Lessons build progressively across the year groups, covering logical reasoning, algorithms, data representation, coding, e-safety, and the creative use of unfamiliar technologies. The aim is for every child to leave school not only digitally literate but also able to apply computing knowledge across subjects and real-life contexts.
The Role
As an ICT PPA Teacher, you will:
- Deliver high-quality Computing lessons during PPA cover sessions across KS1 and KS2.
- Use the school’s well-planned and sequenced curriculum to ensure progression in programming, computational thinking, digital literacy and safe use of technology.
- Inspire pupils to explore technology creatively and confidently, embedding cross-curricular links where appropriate.
- Support children of all abilities through differentiated teaching and engaging lesson design.
- Work closely with class teachers to ensure continuity of learning and share progress updates.
- Contribute to the school’s ethos of high standards, resilience and success for all learners.
Person Specification
We’re looking for a teacher who:
- Holds a recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS or equivalent).
- Has experience teaching ICT/Computing at primary level, with strong subject knowledge.
- Can demonstrate effective classroom management and the ability to engage learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Is adaptable, organised, and able to work collaboratively with staff.
- Shares a commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, and high academic achievement.
