Inclusion Support Assistant- Pupil Referral unit

I am currently recruiting for an inclusion support assistant working with KS3 learners, to ASAP at a pupil referral unit in Wakefield temporary long term. Registering with PK Education as a behaviour support assistant will enable you to develop your profile within Pupil referral unit and alternative provision settings. Giving you the opportunity to highlight your skills and successfully become a permanent staff member. It is imperative you are highly enthusiastic, with a deep understanding of the differentiated behaviours vulnerable children display. By developing yourself as a behaviour support assistant you will be rewarded in supporting vulnerable children to reach their full potential. Job description and Spec:

  • Must have experience working with vulnerable children from age range 10- 16 years old that present with severe violent and challenging behaviour and SEMH needs
  • Professional and adapt to situations in difficult circumstances.
  • Will consider individuals from backgrounds including: Prison Officer, Probation officer, ex police officers, child psychology, youth workers and sports graduates, sporting backgrounds as these are all transferrable skills as an inclusion support assistant. 
  • Confident in your ability to get involved and promote effective, practical methods.
  • Must have strong resilience and behaviour management.
  • Have the ability to provide a position calm and nurturing environment.
  • Understand the schools policies and procedures.
  • Team-teach is an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Must be flexible in your approach.
