Are you ready to embrace a role where no two days are the same and every day is a new adventure? We’re seeking a proactive and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful 2-form entry school in Ossett in December. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and support a fabulous Year 5 class!
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide mobility support for a super independent Year 5 pupil, ensuring they can navigate the school with ease and confidence.
– Team up with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning materials for pupils of all needs and abilities.
– Support low-ability children, helping them shine in their own unique ways!
– Offer 1-1 support to pupils with Autism, fostering a welcoming environment where laughter and learning go hand in hand.
– Bring your sense of humour and creativity to the classroom, making learning fun and memorable.
– Flexibility and willingness to support other classes across the school, where necessary.
Ideal Candidate:
– Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially with SEND pupils (if you’ve survived the chaos of a classroom, you’re halfway there!).
– A strong understanding of autism and physical disabilities, with a knack for implementing strategies that work.
– A patient and compassionate approach, paired with a good dose of humour to keep things light and fun.
– Excellent communication skills to connect with students and staff.
– Strong curriculum knowledge, particularly of the Upper KS2 curriculum is highly beneficial.
– A proactive mindset that thrives in an ever-changing environment—if you love surprises, this is the place for you!
