Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 ASC Support – Y4 Pupil)
Location: Sheffield
Start Date: September 2025
Pay: Minimum £100 per day

PK Education are currently recruiting for a committed and experienced Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a Year 4 child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in a welcoming primary school in Sheffield.

This is a full-time role to start in September 2025 and will offer a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on a child’s learning and development.

The Role:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Y4 pupil with ASC, adapting activities and the learning environment to meet their individual needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider staff to implement and review personalised learning strategies and support plans.
  • Support the child’s academic progress, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
  • Assist with managing transitions, behaviour, and any sensory or communication needs.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and a positive attitude to learning.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Recent experience supporting children with ASC, preferably on a 1:1 basis.
  • Strong understanding of autism-friendly approaches and differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude, ready to meet the individual needs of the child.
