Level 4 HLTA required – Gateshead – £90 – £120 per day

This exciting Level 4 HLTA vacancy is the perfect opportunity if you are looking for more flexibility and a placement in a variety of good schools in Gateshead.

This rewarding role is to start after Easter and will continue until the end the academic year.

Level 4 HLTA responsibilities and duties:

–     You will be required to provide support to Reception and Year 1 students with autism and other social communication difficulties as part of the High Incidence Needs Team (team of specialist teachers, HLTAs and TAs who work with children and young people in schools and settings in the areas of ASC, SEMH, SLCN and Cognition & Learning difficulties).

– You will at all times implement school policies and procedures and manage the classroom and behaviour.

Secondary School Teachers of all levels and experience will be considered for this role, including NQTs.

To be considered for the Secondary School Teacher role you should have:

  • Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Standards (Level 4) or hold an equivalent qualification.
  • Experience will include working with young children with complex social communication difficulties/autism to support their access and inclusion. This will include devising, planning and delivering successful 1:1 and group activities, including emotional regulation approaches.
  • Understanding of impact of complex social communication difficulties/autism upon aspects of learning and language development and access to the curriculum and have knowledge of the range of appropriate strategies and approaches. 
  • Experience of report writing, coaching and modelling to staff.
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent ICT skills (laptop and iPad will be provided) – Experience of working with Microsoft Office including Outlook and SharePoint.
  • Excellent literacy and communication skills. 
  • Requirement to work flexible across Gateshead and travel independently to settings or have access to mobility support.

·       Current DBS registered with the DBS Update Service – if you do not have a DBS registered online, PK Education will provide full assistance in getting you one.
