RE and Politics Teacher
TemporaryJob Description
RE & Politics Teacher – Sheffield
Location: Sheffield
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
PK Education are working with a Sheffield secondary school who are looking to appoint an RE & Politics Teacher on a permanent basis from September 2026.
This is a strong Humanities department within a well-structured and supportive school environment, where behaviour systems are consistent and staff are able to focus on delivering high-quality teaching.
The timetable is a mix of Religious Education and Politics across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5 (depending on experience and staffing need). Both subjects are well-resourced, with clear schemes of work already in place, while still allowing space for teachers to bring their own style and ideas into lessons.
RE is taught in a discussion-led way, encouraging students to explore beliefs, ethics, and worldviews. Politics is increasingly popular at KS4/KS5, with a focus on democracy, government systems, and current affairs, making lessons highly relevant and engaging.
The school are looking for someone who:
- Can confidently lead discussion-based lessons
- Is comfortable handling sensitive and topical issues
- Has strong subject knowledge in either RE or Politics (or both)
- Can engage students in debate and critical thinking
The Humanities faculty is collaborative and supportive, with a strong culture of shared planning and consistent standards across departments.
This role would suit both experienced teachers and ECTs looking for a permanent post in a well-led and stable school environment.
