Science Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team on a supply basis starting immediately.

The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for KS5 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and effective Science lessons in accordance with the national curriculum. Plan, prepare, and assess students’ work to support progress and achievement. Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students of all abilities, including SEN and EAL learners. Maintain a safe and productive classroom environment conducive to learning. Monitor student behavior and implement school policies regarding discipline. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Science curriculum and participate in departmental meetings when required. Provide timely feedback to students and communicate progress to parents/carers as appropriate. Uphold the ethos and values of the school and act as a positive role model.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification. Experience teaching Science in UK secondary schools (KS3 and KS4 essential; KS5 desirable). Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students. A thorough understanding of the UK Science curriculum. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one). Ability to start immediately and commit to the role for the duration required.

Desirable:

Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. Experience with online learning platforms and digital resources. Flexibility to cover other subjects if required.
