PK Education is recruiting a confident and experienced Seclusion Manager to join the Behaviour Unit of a busy secondary school in Northumberland.

This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring the safe, structured and supportive management of students who require short-term internal seclusion as part of the school’s behaviour strategy.

As Seclusion Manager, you will:

• • Supervise students in the behaviour unit or seclusion room, ensuring safety, dignity, and a structured environment
  • Support students in completing work set by their class teachers
  • Maintain accurate records of behaviour, incidents, and interventions
  • Work closely with the pastoral and safeguarding teams to identify triggers and provide personalised support
  • Promote positive behaviour and de-escalation techniques
  • Assist in developing and implementing behaviour strategies for individual pupils
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• • Experience working with children and young people in a school, educational, or care setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to maintain authority with fairness and consistency
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilience, patience, and the ability to work in challenging situations
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to managing complex behaviour
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and mental health considerations in schools
